The Children's Museum of Wilmington offers a sensory friendly experience for visitors with sensory sensitivities from 10AM-12PM on selected Sundays. Enjoy The Children’s Museum of Wilmington during exclusive hours designed for children with varying sensory, developmental, or physical needs. Explore the Museum in a comfortable and accepting environment that features fewer guests, adjusted exhibits, light and sound reduction, extra visual safety signage, sound maps, and designated calming spaces.
Sensory Bags are available for check out at the Front Desk which include sound canceling headphones, communication cards, sunglasses, and fidget and calming toys.
Designated quiet spaces will be the Calming Cave in the Nurture Nook and the Bonus Room where curtains will be closed, lights will be off, and bean bags and weighted blankets will be available.
Member Information
Members will receive a discounted rate after signing in to your account during the checkout process. You must have an active membership for the date of admission, be registered with the website, and signed in at the time of purchase to receive the discount. Discounted Ticket Rates: Please check our website for the full list of discounted tickets we offer. If you qualify for discounted tickets, please purchase your tickets at the front desk. A low ticket threshold will appear when less than 50 tickets for the selected time slot remain. If the low ticket threshold appears, visitors can purchase their tickets online and speak with the front desk before their tickets are scanned in for their time to receive their discounted rate.
